RECORD COVER REMIXING WITH CoLLAGE

AT MOLLY-MEG, ESSEX ROAD

In our February workshop at Molly Meg, children remixed record covers through collage and mark making.

Children were encouraged to explore and ‘tune in’ to their visual remixes, and see how their alterations have changed the mood, identity and ‘sound’ of the existing cover. In doing this, the workshop provided new ways for children to engage with and experience their artwork.

The process of making art can evoke sensory memories and help us to communicate emotions – adding imaginary audio to the mix, children could think about what their creations might sound like if they could they could hear them with their ears.
